C.R. company on Dragon’s Den Jan. 25th

A Campbell River-based, fashion-solutions company will appear on the CBC hit TV Show, Dragon’s Den next Wednesday, Jan 25 at 8 p.m..

Miss Fix Fashion Products’ President and founder, Elaine Popove was joined by Shannon Baikie, a Campbell River business advisor, during the presention to the ‘Dragons.’ They were pitching the company’s premiere product, Fashion-Aid?, during filming in May 2011.

“With over 3,000 businesses that auditioned for the show, and months of preparation, it is exciting to learn that we were chosen to appear on television,” said Baikie. “Not all businesses that have their pitch filmed actually go to air so we are very excited and honoured to be one of them.”

“With over 45 minutes of footage and only three to five minutes shown, we can guarantee there will be some entertaining and nail biting moments,” said Popove. “Although we know the final outcome, the actual edited pitch has been kept a secret, even from us. So we’re looking forward to seeing it for the first time and sharing it with everyone. We’re not very good at keeping secrets but we’ve succeeded at keeping our lips sealed this time and promise the community we won’t disappoint.”

With its first major sale of 2012 to the London Drugs and Save-On-Foods (available Feb 1), the recent launch of new packaging/branding and the upcoming appearance on Dragon’s Den, it’s a very exciting time for the company. Popove and her friends and supporters are looking forward to what the rest of 2012 brings.

Fashion-Aid first hit shelves in spring 2010, since then the product has taken the fashion industry by storm, retailing in over 400 Canadian National and Independent stores selling women’s clothing, formal wear, bridal, lingerie, costume, dance wear, giftware, hair salons, cosmetics and more.

Fashion-Aid is known as the best “fix for the slip” and it instantly secures clothing and lingerie in place. The clear liquid adhesive is hypoallergenic, water-washable, non-staining and approved by Health Canada. The company says it’s flexible, moves with your skin instead of pulling it leaving you feeling comfortable and confident. Everyone from teenage girls, to mature grandmothers appreciate the products ability to secure slipping bra straps, low necklines, strapless dresses and costumes in place. Whether it’s a casual work day, night out on the town or formal occasion, Fashion-Aid rolls away those embarrassing and annoying wardrobe malfunctions.

Miss Fix Fashion Products Inc. Founder and ‘Mompreneur’ Popove, had her ‘aha!’ moment while struggling with her own strapless gown on her wedding day. Elaine realized that women of all ages worry about their clothing unintentionally slipping, shifting or falling down and decided to solve this problem. Now a mom to a very active toddler and with their recent move to Campbell River, she is thrilled to chase after her son while simultaneously innovating and building her business right here in Campbell River. She said she would also like to thank the community for all their encouragement and support.
